One of the most important functions of county government is to oversee the electoral process. The Elections Department has the responsibility of conducting all federal, state, county elections and any contracted elections with municipalities or independent school districts within Harrison County.

Texas law permits anyone who is registered to vote the option of voting early for any reason. The Elections Office establishes and staffs early voting locations throughout Harrison County. Early voting is available from 17 days to 4 days prior to a scheduled election. Voters may vote early by mail if they are over 65, disabled or expect to be out of the county during the early voting period and on election day.
